ACTION: Magistrates took the following action: Approved minutes of the June 18 meeting; agreed to list in minutes the 911 dispatchers and jail deputies hired by the county; approved first reading of an ordinance adopting an amendment to the general fund and federal grant accounts in the amount of $2,903,218; awarded a bid to Cybex/Gills for the purchase of exercise equipment in the amount of $57,068.42; awarded a bid for the purchase of gas and oil to Travis Oil of Tompkinsville; and approved transfers, general fund claims, road fund claims, jail fund claims and road projects.

Magistrates told DTF grant offered to Edmonson
Metcalfe County magistrates were notified Tuesday morning that a federal grant offered to the Metcalfe Fiscal Court and the Edmonton City Council has now been offered to another county.

City working to increase revenue
Cave City officials are looking for ways to generate more revenue, whether it be contracting with a neighboring city for trash pickup service or extending the city limits after a accruing a spending deficit of more than $100,000 in the last fiscal year.
