DATE: June 30, 2009
PUBLIC HEARING: A public hearing was had prior to the start of the council meeting regarding the city’s Local Government and Economic Assistance Fund and Municipal Road Aid Fund. No comments were made regarding either fund.
ACTION: Council members approved on second reading an ordinance amending the city’s 2008-09 budget; approved on second reading an ordinance adopting the city’s 2009-10 budget.

ACTION: Commissioners took the following action: Approved the May minutes as presented; rejected a bid from Scotty’s Contracting and Stone LLC for patching and resurfacing of city streets.

Magistrates told DTF grant offered to Edmonson
Metcalfe County magistrates were notified Tuesday morning that a federal grant offered to the Metcalfe Fiscal Court and the Edmonton City Council has now been offered to another county.

City working to increase revenue
Cave City officials are looking for ways to generate more revenue, whether it be contracting with a neighboring city for trash pickup service or extending the city limits after a accruing a spending deficit of more than $100,000 in the last fiscal year.

- City hires new auditor, previous one still unpaid The Horse Cave City Council voted Monday night to hire a new certified public accounting firm to audit the city’s 2007-08 financial records, even though the city has yet to pay its former auditor.
