On Tour

Guests welcome to view homes

Some of Glasgow and Barren County’s beautifully decorated and historic homes will be on display next weekend for the “Holiday Home Tour” to benefit the South Central Kentucky Cultural Center.

Four area homes will be open to ticket holders. An open house will also take place at the cultural center where two new exhibits will be introduced to the public.

Sites on the tour will include:

• Spotswood, 309 North Race St., the newly remodeled residence of Drs. Kyle and Amelia Kiser, which is one of the oldest houses in Glasgow.

• Hall Place Bed & Breakfast, 313 South Green St., the home and business of Karin and Gary Carroll and another of Glasgow’s oldest buildings.

• 53 Country Club Estates, the more modern residence of Michael and Sandy McCandless, which overlooks the Glasgow Golf & Country Club golf course.

• 8172 Happy Valley Road, Cave City, the stately Colonial home of Syndey and Sue Bunnell, which is decorated with Victorian-era antiques.

• South Central Kentucky Cultural Center, 200 West Water St., where “Soda Fountain Shoppe” and “Gas Station” exhibits will be unveiled during an open house.

The tour is Sunday, Dec. 6, from 1 to 5 p.m. and is sponsored by the cultural center.

The board of SCKCC will host refreshments while ticket holders enjoy live holiday music by the Glasgow Musicale members and their special guests during the open house at the museum.

Advanced tickets are $10 each and are available at Glasgow-Barren County Chamber of Commerce, South Central Bank, Edmonton State Bank, the cultural center, SCKCC board of directors or through the homeowners. Day of show tickets will cost $15 each.

Street signs will be posted to direct tour takers to the different sites.
