GLASGOW —
Our friend and fellow columnist Loy Milam has been named the World Fishing Network’s (WFN) “Top Ambassador.” The honor is bestowed on writers, photographers, and bloggers who excel in their contributions to WFN. The "Top Ambassador" is selected by a panel of WFN judges and is picked from hundreds of writers and photographers across the nation and the world. Milam not only contributes a monthly column to the Glasgow Daily Times but writes and photographs for several other wildlife publications.
Each ambassador and their blogs are evaluated based on creativity, entertainment value, quality and overall informational value. Milam has been an active contributor to WFN since February, 2012 and his work can be seen at http://www.worldfishingnetwork.com/users/lmilam/blog.aspx.
Milam served as sports/outdoor editor for the Glasgow Daily Times in the late 1980s and early 1990s and won numerous Kentucky Press Association awards for his writing and photography, and was also named the Governor’s Conservation Communicator of the Year in 1990. Milam’s work has appeared in various regional and national publications, including, Bass Angler Magazine, Outdoor Journal, Fur, Fish & Game, Kentucky Outdoors, and Back Home in Kentucky. Loy also serves as a guide on Dale Hollow and the Cumberland River.
“I am honored to receive this award and to be evaluated so highly among so many exceptional writers and photographers,” said Loy. “I feel very fortunate to live in an area with such world class fishing opportunities, and feel that the appeal of our area here in Southern Kentucky and Northern Tennessee played a big part in the popularity of my work.”
