GLASGOW —
The Barren County Trojanettes lost big on their home court Friday night when the Lady Panthers of Cumberland County out-scored them 61-37.
The Lady Panthers’ three-prong offensive attack of Cherokee Capps, Allie Davidson and Kayla Waid was too much for Trojanettes.
The game started out even, 12-11 in favor of Barren County after 6 minutes, but 12 turnovers by the Trojanettes in the first 12 minutes allowed Cumberland to gain a 23-16 lead. Barren County got back in the game by outscoring the Lady Panthers 9-5 to finish the first half. The mini run was sparked by the outside shooting of Emily Blair and Kelsey Manion who hit three 3-pointers between them – Blair had two of them.
The halftime score was Cumberland County 28, Barren County 25. A three point deficit was as close as it would get the rest of the game.
