GLASGOW —
The Barren County Trojans improved their record to 20-5 on the team’s senior night, in front of a gold-clad crowd. They defeated the Cumberland County Panthers, 62-44, in Friday’s high school basketball action.
The game was never really close as Barren County’s Dalton Bush made shot after shot from almost everywhere on the court. Cumberland County, now 7-16 this season, just couldn’t find an answer to Bush, who scored a game-high 22 points.
The Trojans jumped to a 10-0 early lead, and held the lead most of the night. Barren County led 26-18 at the half.
The Trojans put the game out of reach when they went on a 16-5 run during a six-minute span at the end of the third period into the beginning of the fourth. The run was highlighted by Ben Leftwich’s crowd-pleasing dunk on a breakaway steal to end the third quarter. Leftwich finished the game with 5 points.
