Metcalfe County looking for leaders on football team

GLASGOW — Though his team is currently 2-5 on the season, Metcalfe County football coach Freddie Harbison said he believes his team hasn’t lived up its potential yet this year. He thinks the Hornets’ best football is ahead of them.

And for the Metcalfe County fans, that’s good news because the Hornets are back in action on Friday night against the Casey County Rebels and their talented running back Alex Bolin.

“We’re thought we would be a little further along than we are right now, to be honest,” said Harbison. “We’re still looking for someone, or a few players, to step forward and be the vocal leaders on the team, someone that pushes the team and says, ‘Get on our backs. We’re going to do it.’ We’re still looking for that.”

The game is scheduled to begin Friday at 7 p. m. in Liberty.
