LOUISVILLE — Ryan Metzger finished in the top 10 in two events at the state swim meet at the University of Louisville on Saturday.
The Barren County senior posted a season-best and school-record of 54.17 in the 100 yard backstroke and finished fifth. In the 100 yard butterfly event, he posted a 54.57 and finished eighth.
“All season Ryan has continued to improve his times and to provide leadership for his teammates,” Barren County swim coach Steve Metzger said. “The coaching staff is very proud of his accomplishments.”
Glasgow freshman Meghan Taylor also qualified for the state meet. She finished 18th in the preliminary round of the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 56.31.
