GLASGOW —
Game after game this season, Brett Meredith has talked about the effort his team gives every time it takes the floor. The Metcalfe County coach knew the 2012-13 basketball season would be an uphill battle for his squad because of its youth.
Though the Hornets have struggled to find the win column this season, Meredith has always been proud of his players’ effort.
“This is the best group of young men I have ever been around,” said Meredith. “They’ve laid it on the line every night. They know where we’re at with this program and they know success is ahead of us. And they know we face a big challenge on Monday when we face Clinton County.”
And that challenge couldn’t be any bigger than it will be when the Hornets battle the Bulldogs in the 16th District Boys Basketball Tournament at Cumberland County High School. Tipoff is set for 7:45 p.m.
