GLASGOW —
Maitlin Nuckols scored three goals and Megan Jones scored two Tuesday to lead the Glasgow Lady Scotties to a big 6-0, District 15 soccer victory over Barren County.
“I think we’re doing OK,” said Glasgow coach Kathy Jones. “I think we’ve got a lot to learn still.
“In terms of how we’ve started the season, I am pretty pleased. I am particularly pleased because of how young we are.”
Nuckols scored all three of her goals in the first half, her final tally coming in the 32nd minute of the half.
Megan Jones added two goals, all of which came in the first half, bending the net in the 24th minute and the 39th minute.
“We’re pretty quick up front,” said Kathy Jones. “We’ve been getting in trouble because of offsides, but we did a better job of that tonight.”
Meghan Taylor capped off the scoring with a goal for the Lady Scotties in the 69th minute to post the final 6-0 margin.
Glasgow will get back in the action on Thursday at Logan County, while Barren County will visit the Warren Central Lady Dragons.
