GLASGOW —
The Barren County High School Trojanettes, coming off a good performance last weekend in the Battle of the Barrens Volleyball Tournament, kept the momentum going Monday evening when they swept Adair County in two games.
The Trojanettes took the first game 25-18, but regrouped in the second game and left no doubt, winning by a score of 25-10.
“We actually looked a little tired in the first game of the match,” said Barren County mentor Robin McMurtrey.
“However, we really pulled it up in the second game.”
McMurtrey said the Trojanettes’ hitters were great at the net.
“We hit the ball well tonight,” McMurtrey added, “but our serving wasn’t as good as it usually is.
“We will have to play better and quicker on Tuesday when we visit Russell County.”
The Glasgow Lady Scotties couldn’t seem to hit on all cylinders Monday night during their district match at Monroe County.
The Lady Scotties lost to the Lady Falcons by a score of 25-5 and 25-5.
“Our girls just didn’t show up ready to play tonight,” said Glasgow coach Lauren Shelton.
