GLASGOW —
Spots are still available for golfers wanting to take part in the Barren County Chapter of the American Red Cross Fifth Annual Golf Scramble. The tournament, which benefits the local chaper, is set for Wednesday, Aug. 1, at the Fox Hollow Golf Club.
“The registration has been a little slow,” said Bill Myers, local board chairman. “I am not sure exactly why, but I think a lot of people wait until the last minute.”
Myers said he and other board members are calling players in previous tournaments to see if they would like to play this year.
The registration fee is $50 per person.
“The tournament is a four-person scramble,” said Myers. “And we will be giving prizes for the top three places in low gross and low net categories.”
Myers said the tournament is of vital importance to the local community because the proceeds from the tournament stay local and will benefit the Barren County Chapter of the American Red Cross.
“All of the money stays right here in the local community,” Myers relayed.
For more information or to register for the tournament, contact the American Red Cross at 270-659-2050, Myers at 270-646-8767 or the Fox Hollow Golf Club at 270-678-7277.
