GLASGOW —
After outscoring the Bardstown Tigers 42-13 over the final three quarters of last Friday’s playoff game, it would be easy to understand if the Glasgow High School Scotties were riding a pretty big emotional high. After all, that may have been the biggest win in Glasgow’s storied football history.
But that emotional high lasted, probably, 24 hours before the Scotties were brought back to reality as they began preparation this week for Friday’s Kentucky High School Athletic Association Class 2A Regional Championship contest with DeSales. Glasgow players realize the Bardstown game is in the past.
“Trust me, after watching the film from last week’s game, there was plenty to work on,” said Glasgow coach Rick Wood. “We gave up a ton of yards to Bardstown, and we had a lot of missed tackles, blown assignments. We were grounded very quickly after watching film and the kids realized there was a lot to work on.”
The DeSales Colts come into Friday’s game with a season record of 8-4. They have regular season victories over Elizabethtown, Fort Knox, Holy Cross, Washington County, Sewanee and Southern. DeSales has lost to Central, Louisville Pleasure Ridge Park, Christian Academy and Bardstown.
