Defensive intensity wasn’t a problem for the Barren County Trojans on Friday night in their basketball game against South Warren. It was just a matter of when the defensive intensity was turned on.
Barren County coach Warren Cunningham wasn’t displeased with his team’s defensive effort in the first half of Friday’s contest, it just seemed the Trojans didn’t get the intensity to a boiling point until the third quarter when the Trojans outscored the Spartans 17-9 en route to a hard-fought 66-53 win.
“I thought we guarded well in the in the first half, but the problem was we would guard well, but give up a offensive rebound,” Cunningham explained. “That caused us to give up points and fouls and it kept us from getting separation early. We did a better job in the second half.”
