GLASGOW —
While most high school football programs have already put their shoulder pads, cleats and jerseys up in storage for next year, the season isn’t over just yet for some of the Monroe County High School Falcons.
Seniors Chad Wilson and Jacob Hodges, along with head coach John Petett, have been invited to participate in this weekend’s Best of the Bluegrass All-Star Game in Louisville.
The annual event, sponsored by the Kentucky Football Coaches Association and the Greater Louisville Football Coaches Association, is Sunday, Dec. 9, at St. Xavier High School in Louisville. The game will pit a team of all-stars from Louisville area high schools against a team of all-stars from the rest of the state. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. CST.
“I really feel like Chad and Jacob have earned this opportunity and I am very excited for them,” said Petett, who will serve as an assistant coach for the Kentucky team. “They’ve had a phenomenal year with this football team and they’ve had a very good year stats wise. They were vital parts in the success of our team this year and their reward is to be able to take part in this all-star game. I am sure they’re excited about it.”
