GLASGOW —
Barren Reservoir continues to head toward winter pool. The level stood at 528.4 feet Wednesday morning. I checked in with my fishing support, Bill and Todd Logsdon, and learned that fishing has been really hot early in the week at Barren River Lake. (I heard) A bass fisherman had just left the store after stocking up on crank baits. He had caught and released 25 bass that morning fishing crank baits.
Bill and Todd had tried their luck on crappie that morning and had boated nine at their first stop when the weather ran them off the lake. Todd had just managed to get the boat under cover when that hard rain and hail hit Monday.
I heard from our friend Ken Davis from Burkesville, the one I’ve written about who builds his own river boats. It seems he’s now working on an outboard motor that will run on propane. You never know what Ken and his dog Trouble are into.
