GLASGOW —
Preparation has always been a key part of basketball for Barren County High School veteran coach John Butler. After scouting opponents and watching as much film as possible, Butler always has a gameplan ready for any opponent his Trojanettes must face.
But on Friday, the Trojanettes play host to arch rival Glasgow High School and Butler says preparing a strategy for the Lady Scotties is difficult.
“What makes Glasgow so good is they have great balance,” Butler said. “They have (Kelsey) Greer, who is obviously a good guard. And they have (Emily) Alexander and she is a good guard. And they have players coming off the bench that do things well, too.”
Tipoff is set for 6 p.m.
“Balance is what makes good teams so difficult to beat. You obviously can’t take everything away from a team, so you hopefully can do a good job of containing their strengths,” Butler explained. “Against Glasgow, we can’t get killed on the boards. That’s one thing we can not do. And then we have to minimize our turnovers. And if we can do those things, hopefully we can be competitive.”
