Unearned runs doom Glasgow

Staff report

BOWLING GREEN — Four unearned runs haunted Glasgow in a 4-1 loss at Bowling Green on Tuesday.

“It was another tough day,” Glasgow coach Steven Murphy said.

The Lady Scotties took the lead in the third inning when Jordan Hatchett scored to put her team up 1-0.

Glasgow committed two errors in the bottom half of the inning and gave up a pair of unearned runs as Bowling Green took a 2-1 lead.

The Lady Purples took advantage of two Lady Scottie errors in the sixth to plate two runs for a 4-1 advantage.

Blair Dennison went the distance and was the tough-luck loser for Glasgow. She gave up four unearned runs on six hits. Dennison struck out four and walked one.

“Blair pitched well again,” Murphy said.

Micha Elmore, Haley Perkins and Christian Williams each had a hit for Glasgow.

The Lady Scotties return to action with a 5 p.m. home game against Metcalfe County on Thursday.
