GLASGOW — Bowling Green beat Greenwood and Russellville in a playoff to claim the Glasgow Invitational tournament title on Saturday.
The Purples’ Robert Kirby won individual medalist honors with a 72.
The host Scotties finished fourth, seven strokes behind the trio of playoff participants. Monroe County took sixth, Caverna finished 10th and Barren County finished 12th.
Monroe’s Matthew Anderson also shot a 74 to finish third individually.
“We had some bright spots,” Glasgow coach James Neal said. “If we’ll play 18 holes like we play nine, we’ll be in good shape.”
Andrew Wade shot a 77 to lead the Scotties. Clint Hall had a round of 81, Steely Harris shot an 82, Corey Wooten added an 83 and Jordan Daniel had an 85.
In addition to Anderson, Travis Page shot an 81 and Chad McPherson added an 84 for the Falcons. Kaelin McPherson had a 91 and Troy Tooley fired a round of 92.
Michael Larimore shot an 87 to lead Caverna. TA Wells paced Barren with an 84.
The Trojans are back in action today with a 9-hole match against the Falcons at Barren River Lake State Park. The Scotties return to the links Saturday at the North Hardin Invitational.
