EDMONTON —
Monroe County won the All “A” Classic Region 4 Volleyball Tournament on Saturday.
“We came into the tournament playing very well,” said Tara Tayor, Monroe County's volleyball coach. “We’re undefeated right now and we’re doing what we’re suppose to be doing to win games. We have a lot of valuable experience an we also height along the net.”
“Hannah Harrison and Lauren Turner are playing real well for us right now, they have a lot of experience,” she added. “Our defense was very solid (Saturday).
The Lady Falcons will play in the All “A” State tournament on Saturday, Sept. 15, at the Mid-American sports complex.
“Our girls have a lot of experience going into the All State. Monroe County has represented this region at the state volleyball tournament in three of the last four years. And I think that familiarity with the tournament will pay benefits for us and they shouldn’t be very nervous,” Taylor said.
Monroe defeated Metcalfe County in the regional final, 25-8, 25-17.
“I don’t think we’re playing up to our potential. Oh well, Some days you have good days and somedays you have bad days,” said Amber Steele, Metcalfe's head coach.

Clinton over Cumberland 25-9, 25-9
Russellville over Glasgow 25-10, 25-21
Monroe County over Todd Central 25-6 25-17
Metcalfe County over Clinton 26-24, 23-2525-19
Monroe over Russellville 25-15, 25-18.
Monroe over Metcalfe County in the final 25-8, 25-17.
