GLASGOW —
The Glasgow High School Lady Scotties got four goals from Maitlin Nuckols Tuesday afternoon to help the Glasgow girls knock off Monroe County 10-0 in soccer action in Tompkinsville.
The Lady Scotties jumped out on top of the Lady Falcons early and often Tuesday, grabbing a big lead and never letting up.
Besides Nuckols’ four-goal outing, Glasgow also got two goals from Meghan Taylor and one goal each from Megan Jones, McKenzie Frasier, AliGrace Hampton and Raena Maupin.
“I thought, today, we did a much better job of being first to the ball,” said Glasgow coach Kathy Jones. “And I think our midfield did a better job of coming back to support the defense.”
The Lady Scotties will be back in action on Thursday when they host South Warren High School.
In other action:
– Earlier this week, the Monroe County Lady Falcons got a 5-0 soccer victory over Clinton County.
Shelby Emberton led the way with two goals. Leslie Turner, Karen Catalon and Kaitlyn Burks scored one goal each.
– The Glasgow High School Lady Scotties battled valiantly against Clinton County on Tuesday night before dropping a 2-0 volleyball decision.
Clinton County won the games 25-16 and 25-12.
“We had a really awesome crowd tonight,” said Glasgow coach Lauren Shelton. “We played a lot harder tonight when the fans were behind us.”
– The Barren County Trojans and Trojanettes took it on the chin Tuesday night in high school soccer action.
The Trojans dropped a 6-1 decision to South Warren, while the Trojanettes dropped a 6-0 decision to Portland High School,
