GLASGOW —
Chase Landrum fired a 78 for the Glasgow Scotties Monday to help the Blue and White finish ninth out of 20 teams at the South Warren Invitational in Bowling Green.
Landrum finished 11th in the overall standings.
“The biggest thing going against us today was our putting,” said Glasgow mentor Mike Harris. “The greens at the Indian Hills course, they had all but lost them (to the heat).
“There was very little grass and we missed a lot of putts.”
Steely Harris chipped in with an 82 over the 18 holes for GHS. Dalton Fant shot an 85.
Michael Harris posted a 92 for the Scotties and Cody Jones fired a 97.
“Other than our putting, I thought we actually played pretty well,” said the coach.
“However, we saw some things we’re going to need to work on.”
The Scotties must now prepare to compete in the district tournament on Wednesday, Aug. 8, at Barren River State Park. Tee time is at 4 p.m.
“I don’t know much about Allen County, but Barren has been playing very well lately,” Harris said.
“(For us to have a chance) We have to find some consistency in our play, especially from the four and five positions on our roster.”
