GLASGOW —
Blake Button really believes in his team. The Caverna High School Colonels won only five games last season, but Button says this year’s team, the squad that will take the floor Monday against Fort Knox, will be nothing like last year’s team.
And that’s why Button, boldly and proudly, has set a goal of 20 wins this year for his team.
“Usually we might set small goals and build up. However, this year, we’re shooting for the top. We’re shooting for 20 wins this year,” Button explained. “A lot of people might doubt us. They may say we should be more realistic, but I say ‘Why not.’
“We could win every district game this year very easily. We’ve also changed our schedule up a little bit this season to include some more All A schools, more of a realistic schedule for us.”
The Colonels will tip off the regular season with Fort Knox at 7 p.m. CST.
