SPORTS BRIEFS: Barren boys soccer falls to Central Hardin

GLASGOW — The Barren County boys soccer team lost to Central Hardin Monday night 3-0. The loss drops the Trojans’ record to 1-2-1.

Barren golf ties Monroe, beats Bowling Green

The Barren boys golf team tied with Monroe County, but defeated Bowling Green in a three-team meet at the Glasgow Country Club Monday.

T.A. Wells led Barren with a one-under 35. Chase Nunn (40), Adam Rickett (40) and Nathan Layton (42) rounded out the top four.

Monroe and Barren’s top four scorers tied, which left the fifth-place golfers to decide the winner. The Trojans’ Matt Turner (44) tied with Monroe’s fifth, leaving the match stalled in a 157-157 tie.

Bowling Green finished third with a 171 team total.



Glasgow boys golf defeats Metcalfe

The Glasgow boys golf team beat Metcalfe County 169-172 Monday.

The team will next face Warren East at Diamond Caverns on Sept. 3.

Scotties basketball scramble

Glasgow Scotties Basketball 2009 golf scramble will begin with check-in at noon on Oct. 9 at Glasgow Golf & Country Club. A shotgun start begins at 1 p.m. with an awards dinner at 6 p.m.

First place team receives $400, second place, $300; and third place $200.

The foursome scramble format will have a minimum team handicap of 40. Team cost is $240, individuals, $60. Price includes dinner.
