GLASGOW —
The Glasgow Lady Scotties put four players in double figures Thursday night, led by 20 points from Shalika Smith, as they battled their way to a 65-50 victory over visiting rival Caverna High School.
“I thought they shot the ball well tonight,” said Glasgow coach Justin Stinson. “They were trying to keep the tempo down and keep us out of transition, and I thought they did a good job of that. I thought we got a little stagnate against their zone at times.
“We really want to play inside out, get the ball inside first and then open up to get good looks for the 3. I thought we didn’t do as good of a job at that as we should have. I thought we rebounded the ball well, and we competed well. But when a team makes 10 3s, that’s going to keep them in the game.”
“I don’t think the final score was truly indicative of how the game went,” said Caverna coach Cornelius Faulkner. “We had a game plan going in where we wanted to try and keep them off the boards, but they’ve got a great team.
