MUNFORDVILLE —
Even though the Caverna Lady Colonels have put some gray hair on top of head coach Cornelius Faulkner’s head this basketball season, it proved to all be worth it Wednesday night when Caverna rolled over a very good Green County team 67-40 in the semifinals of the Kentucky High School Athletic Association District 18 Girls Basketball Tournament at Hart County High School.
The Lady Colonels jumped out on top early and they never looked back, picking up the 27-point tournament victory.
“We worked very hard on our 1-3-1 defense this week and our job tonight was to keep (Green County standout) Rachel Marr out of the lane,” said Faulkner. “I thought our post defense was going to be pretty good tonight with Regan (Kingrey) and Madison (Faulkner) in the post. And I knew if Ciara Waggoner and Madison Perry came through for us out top, then we would be in a good situation.”
