BOWLING GREEN — The Barren County girls cross country team qualified for the Class 3A state meet by finishing second in their regional meet Saturday.
Ally Davis at seventh had the highest individual finish for Barren County. Kaley Dunbar was close on her heels in eighth.
The Trojanettes posted 84 points as a team. The scores are calculated based on the finishing positions of each runner, so the lower the score the better.
Bowling Green won the meet at Kereiakes Park in Bowling Green with 24 points.
Greenwood finished third with 100 points.
The Barren County boys also competed in their regional Saturday and finished seventh as a team.
Mason Dunbar was the top individual runner for the Trojans. He finished 33rd. Ryan Metzger was next for Barren at 41st.
No one from the Barren County boys team qualified for state.
