TOMPKINSVILLE —
TOMPKINSVILLE – It took 18 complete holes from each of Glasgow High School’s five competing players, and after almost five hours on the golf course Tuesday afternoon, the Scotties fired a 331 team total to win the Region 4 Boys Golf Tournament at Hiddle Hills Golf and Country Club in Tompkinsville.
The Scotties slipped by Bowling Green at 334. South Warren was third at 343 and Barren County was fourth at 344.
“I am just really tickled to death for these guys,” said an excited Mike Harris, Glasgow’s golf coach.
“They deserve to win and I think they have proven a lot of people wrong this year.”
The Scotties and the Bowling Green Purples will advance to the Kentucky High School Athletic Association State Tournament on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 5-6, at the Bowling Green Country Club. A practice round will be held Thursday, Oct. 4, with the tournament beginning Friday.
