GLASGOW —
Friday night’s football game at Mayfield has a lot of meaning to Caverna High School Football Coach Rodney Middleton. The Colonels will be visiting the Cardinals for a first-round game in the Kentucky High School Athletic Association Class 1A Playoffs. And in addition to wanting to win the game, Middleton knows the game against the highly favored Mayfield squad will also go a long way toward helping the first-year coach strengthen his program for the future.
“For me the playoffs, it is the same as any other game. We take it one game at a time and each game is a learning experience,” said Middleton. “I know we’re overmatched in this game, but I expect all of my kids to go over there and compete. I know my seniors will be giving all they have on Friday night, but we want everyone to compete.”
