GLASGOW —
The Glasgow High School Lady Scotties put four players in double figures Tuesday night, led by 25 points from Shalika Smith, to roll to a 65-50 victory over District 15 foe Allen County-Scottsville. Glasgow shot a blistering 55 percent from the field.
But the Lady Scotties are more than just an offensive team as Glasgow’s defensive effort Tuesday night played a big role in the Lady Scotties’ victory.
“I thought Emily Alexander did a terrific job on (Allen County Scottsville standout Morgan) Rich all night long,” said Glasgow coach Justin Stinson. “I don’t know how many points she ended up with, but I know she had to work for them.
“I thought Shalika did a good job defensively. We tried to double down early and post our guards a little bit, and she did a good job of doubling out and walling up there, especially in the second half.”
The victory improves the Lady Scotties to 10-2 overall and 3-0 in district play. Allen County falls to 11-2 and 1-1 in the district.
