GLASGOW —
The Barren County High School wrestling team won one of its two matches Wednesday afternoon at the Taylor County High School Duals in Campbellsville. The Trojans lost to Danville, 42-39; but beat Taylor County, 54-30.
“We competed well at most of the weight classes. I think the scores show that we are competitive in a dual meet,” said Barren County coach Luke Pniewski. “Danville is a team that has been around for a while, and they have some pretty good kids that will be placing at state this year, I think we did well to keep it as close as we did.
“Taylor County is a new team this year, but they don’t wrestle like it. They don’t have great numbers, but they have some good looking kids, and you can tell that they are getting quite a bit of help from Campbellsville University’s wrestling team. They were impressive for a first year team, and I think they’ll surprise a few teams this year.”
