FRANKFORT — The state auditor will release a special examination of the Kentucky League of Cities in a Thursday morning press conference.
Crit Luallen will release her findings at a 10 a.m. press conference Thursday in her downtown Frankfort office.
Luallen’s office initiated a review of the not for profit municipal league after a series of articles in the Lexington Herald Leader revealed the director, Sylvia Lovely, was making more than $315,000, and questioned many of the organization’s expenses, including travel and dining expenses at a restaurant owned by Lovely’s husband.
KLC provides legal, insurance and lobbying services for its municipal members who pay membership dues. It generates much of its revenue from its insurance services.
