Cranes make yearly trek

Hundreds of sandhill cranes take flight above fields off Ky. 685 just south of Louie B. Nunn Parkway on Monday afternoon. The birds had landed on the James Witty farm, but quickly took flight and moved on when disturbed. Lisa Meredith, who lives along the roadway, said the cranes have been showing up about the same time for at least the last four years.
