Glasgow’s Natalie Shields runs at Cave Lake Event Park outside Monticello during the Class 1A, Region 2 Cross Country Meet on Saturday. Shields finished 11th overall, but qualified for the state meet by finishing in the top 5 as an individual runner. The top two teams and the top five individuals qualified for the state meet at Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington this coming Saturday.

As Lora Garrett prepares the Glasgow High School swim team for this weekend’s Kentucky High School Athletic Association Region 1 Swimming and Diving Championships in Owensboro, she sees a lot of positives for her team. Meghan Taylor is swimming well in the freestyle and Grayson Reynolds is swimming well, as are a couple of the Lady Scottie relay teams.

There’s something inherently wrong with this country’s societal standards when a mother is harassed and humiliated for breastfeeding her child in public, while any partial or complete display of the same woman’s breasts in the media or on the street for the purpose of sexual objectification would seem acceptable to many Americans, male and female alike.
